Favorite Verse: James 1:22 “Be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

In 1977, he resigned from the State Police and began the training with New Tribes Mission. In December 1979, upon completion of the mission training, he, his Wife Barbara, and their two teenage children flew to Senegal West Africa to begin their ministry. They did tribal evangelism among the Bainouke people, who were almost totally Muslims. John and his family served a total of 24 years in Africa. They served in that capacity until the late 1990s when John had a heart attack. They came home to the U.S. for treatment and then returned to Senegal. The harsh weather environment affected John’s health and the mission forced John return to the U.S., where he served as a Representative for New Tribes Mission on the east coast.  It was during the latter part of this time, 2006 John was asked by Pastor Chris to come as Missions and Discipleship Pastor at Hampstead Baptist Church.

John has one daughter and one granddaughter are still serving with the mission as this time.
