Our Purpose
HBC is all about purpose! The Bible gives us a clear purpose to share the truths of Jesus Christ in our church, our community and around the world. The purpose of Hampstead Baptist Church is to Love God and Love Others.
- Love God – We exist to love our Creator, Savior and Messiah! We love God through what we do, how we live, where we go, what we say, and how we….
- Love Others – We are called to love others! We go out of our way to let those around us know that they are loved!!
Our Beliefs
Hampstead Baptist is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), and we are in agreement with The Baptist Faith and Message 2000, a statement of belief adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention. CLICK HERE to view the Baptist Faith and Message.
HBC is also a partner with the Baptist Convention of Maryland Delaware (BCM/D) and the Mid-Maryland Baptist Association (MMBA).
We believe in, and financially support, the Cooperative Program, as well as many other missionaries all over the world.
Our Leadership
Dr. Andrew Bell
Lead Pastor
Pastor Andy has been our Lead Pastor since December 2022. Pastor Andy is a graduate of Southeastern Seminary (D.Min), Southern Seminary (M.Div), Liberty University and Word of Life Bible Institute. He loves hunting, fishing, and watching hometown sports.
He is married to his wife Michelle since 2006 and they have two kids- Luke and Leah
Pastor Cameron Heathman
Associate Pastor
Pastor Cameron is from South Africa, from a small town called Hilton. When he finished high school he went to the city of Durban to study film and animation for four years earning a postgraduate honours in that, and later felt a call into ministry and pursued theological studies for four years. Cameron has been in ministry full time since January 2022, and before that was a church intern for four years learning about the practical parts of ministry whilst he was studying, giving him 6 years in official church ministry. Cameron has a degree in theology from Christ Baptist Seminary in Polokwane, and was part of the Baptist Union of South Africa, and has many hours of working in various parts of church ministry; from high school youth, to young adults, to children’s ministry, men’s ministry, leading Bible studies, preaching and teaching on Sundays, and much more. He loves reading, writing, computers, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Pastor John Warnken
Missions / Discipleship Pastor
Pastor John is from Baltimore, MD, He has two children; Lee & Laurie and nine grandchildren. John began his ministry with us in January 2006.
Melissa Ruby
Administrator
Melissa has been the Administrator at HBC since 2019. She has found great joy through the years in serving in the Children’s ministry, Youth Ministry, Music Ministry, and various Outreach Ministries of Hampstead Baptist Church.
Melissa is married to her husband of 30 years, James, and has two sons and two daughters in-love. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family.
Linda Wheat
Secretary
Linda is originally from Manchester, MD. She now resides in Hanover, PA. She is married, has two adult children, and is a grandmother to two terrific grandchildren. Linda began her ministry with us in November 2010.
